How we clean

The 5-Stage Wonder Cleaning Method

No rushed jobs, no shortcuts, no damaged fibres. Every clean includes all five thorough stages.

  1. 1Dry soil removal

    A thorough professional vacuum before a drop of water touches the carpet. Our machines pull out the grit sitting deep down in the fibres, well beyond anything a household hoover can reach. We always hoover before we wet, because dry soil turns to mud the moment it gets wet.

  2. 2Pre-spray

    A kid- and pet-safe pre-spray goes down across the carpet and is given time to dwell. It separates the soil from the fibre so we can lift it straight out, instead of scrubbing it out and wearing the fibre down.

  3. 3Agitation

    We work the solution right through to the base of the pile, so it reaches the soil sitting deep in the carpet instead of just freshening the surface. Agitation is a necessity, especially in the areas you walk on most. Stains and traffic lanes get individual attention here.

  4. 4Rinse & extract

    A powerful extraction rinse flushes the loosened soil and every trace of product away, then pulls the moisture straight back out — the step that decides whether a carpet dries in hours or stays damp for days. We match the water temperature to the fibre, so wool and delicate carpets get a gentler rinse.

  5. 5Groom

    We set the pile in one direction to finish. It helps the carpet dry faster and more evenly, stops patchy drying marks, and is why it looks properly done rather than just cleaned.

Trained & certified

A carpet is easier to ruin than to clean

Most of the damaged carpets we're called out to look at weren't wrecked by dirt. They were wrecked by cleaning — usually by someone doing their best with a hired machine and no idea what the fibre underneath could take.

  • Shrinkage. Soak a wool or natural-backed carpet and it can tighten as it dries, lifting off the gripper at the edges. That one doesn't undo.
  • Browning. Too much water in a jute or cotton-backed carpet and yellow-brown marks wick up through the pile a day or two later, right where it looked cleanest.
  • Colour bleed. The wrong chemistry on the wrong dye and the pattern runs into the pale bits permanently.
  • Delamination. Over-wetting breaks down the latex bonding the backing to the pile, and the carpet starts to ripple and separate.
  • Set-in stains. Heat or the wrong product on a protein or dye stain fixes it for good. Plenty of "impossible" stains were removable before somebody scrubbed them.
  • Rapid re-soiling. Detergent left behind in the pile is sticky, so it pulls dirt straight back in and looks worse within weeks.

Knowing which fibre you've got, how much moisture it will tolerate and which chemistry is safe on it is precisely what the technician course covers. It's why we carry treatment and damage cover for the rare occasion something doesn't behave.

No — that’s the number-one worry and exactly what our fast-dry finish solves. Carpets are usually touch-dry within a few hours, so your rooms are back in use the same day, not soggy for a week.

Are your products safe for children and pets?

Yes. Everything we use is safe for kids and pets, and carpets dry quickly so little ones and paws are back on them before you know it.

What if I’m not happy with the result?

Do you cover my area?

Will the price go up on the day?

In the vast majority of cases, the price you see on our website is the price you pay on the day. Occasionally something turns up that the form couldn’t know about — extreme soiling, stubborn stains, difficult access or another unforeseen issue — and we may need to adjust the price. If that happens we will always talk it through with you first. We will never add anything to your bill without agreeing it with you beforehand.

Do you move the furniture?

We move small furniture for you and put it back. We just ask that large or heavy items are cleared beforehand where possible.
